Procurement

Tecsar has decades worth of experience in procurement to meet any client needs.

Our Experience Includes;

  • Preparation of detailed bid specifications for all major equipment

  • Work with Vendors for equipment selection, bid clarifications and budgetary quotations

  • Generate purchase requisitions for all projects - client preferences for purchase requisition / release can be supported

  • Apply and search for MID’s (Material Identification Numbers) which aid in the creation of purchase requisitions

  • Track delivery times, common areas of stock, and warehouse storage

  • Front end design stages are supported by Tecsar bid specs and Vendor proposals which are components of TIC estimates for funding approval at various project gates. These front end design stages are supported by access to SAP whereby we have the ability to review maintenance histories associated with equipment and instrumentation

Estimating

Tecsar completes full TIC estimating for most of the projects within our EPCM portfolio.  Typically, our estimating portfolio has ranged from $100,000 to over $100,000,000.

Tecsar’s approach to estimating project costs has the estimator being involved with the project from the initial kick-off meeting to the end of the engineering phase for the estimate handover. Being involved from the beginning of the project allows our estimating group to pose questions about design and construction philosophy which may have significant cost impact on the job and avoid costly rework later in the project lifecycle. On jobs over $10,000,000 or at our client’s request, our estimators will review the estimate basis with project leaders from all engineering firms and the client project manager at the 30%, 60% and 90% completion marks. This allows us to ensure we have a proper basis for the estimate, that all major equipment quotes have been requested and that basic assumptions are correct such as labour buildup, productivity, raw material costs, procurement schedules, construction schedules and site environmental variables.
